Fish and ships in Sokcho, South Korea,
The project documents simple places, unexpected detours, and fragments of travel that don’t usually make it into itineraries. Side Quest is a personal collection of travel photography and short notes from different trips, focused on ordinary places, random details, and forgettable moments.

Kek Lok Si, Buddhist temple in Penang, Malaysia
Reached from George Town by Grab or bus to Air Itam, then slowly up the hillside. The temple unfolds in layers as you climb — courtyards, stairways, and halls spread out across the slope, with the city staying visible in the distance. It’s not a hidden spot at all, but sitting on the edge of things, just outside the noise of the centre. Surprisingly quiet when I went, with very few tourists around, which made it feel unusually calm for a place of this scale.
